Biosecurity NZ & International

Target Pest safeguards New Zealand biodiverstity through biosecurity. Protecting plants, animals and people’s health from pests and diseases is vitally important. Biosecurity is about preventing new pest organisms being introduced and eradicating or managing those invasive species already established.

Target Pest Enterprises has risen to the challenge with a comprehensive package of pest management and biosecurity services that help safeguard environments and economies from damage.

Target Pest is an independent provider of biosecurity, forest and environmental monitoring services that can assist managers by addressing many of the requirements of environmental certification systems, new pest detection models and biosecurity quarantine provisions, both in New Zealand and abroad.

Some of the current programmes of work include:

  • Forest Owners Association Surveillance Programme
  • Chathams Islands Biosecurity and Quarantine Project

The detailed methodologies used by Target Pest Biosecurity are scientifically based and auditable and are the result of many years experience working with central and local government, forest owners and other private organisations.
